Your commitment as an Air Steward onboard SAS’ flights is to exceed customers’ expectations on both European and Intercontinental flights. You will be responsible for organizing, structuring, and supervising the dining experience in SAS Business, Plus and Go Class. Additionally, you will play a vital role in guiding and briefing colleagues on the overall workflow throughout the flight.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience.
  • Education or vocational certification in hospitality, waiter/waitress, chef, sommelier, culinary arts, passion for food and wine, is an advantage.
  • Experience as a Cabin Crew is desired.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years old.
  • Height between 160 cm and 190 cm (without shoes).
  • Completed education to a minimum level of high school or equivalent level.
  • Fluent in English language (Berlitz level B2/gym. Min. B).
  • Strong swimming skills.
  • Able to comply with uniform regulations. No tattoos on the face. Tattoos with offensive or religious motives and piercings are not according to SAS Uniform Policy. Tattoos on the hands or neck must not exceed one centimeter in size and are limited to a maximum of one.
  • Valid EU passport allowing free travel worldwide.
  • Eligible to live and work permanently in Denmark.

Security Requirements

  • Employment requires an approved security interview/background check for access cards, an approved/passed training course, and that you meet the company’s requirements set for cabin crew.
  • Good physical and mental health, as well as good vision (+/- 0.7 with or without corrections). You need to be able to obtain a health certificate according to EASA Regulations. You can find more information about medical certification for Cabin Crew by clicking here. 
  • Employment also requires completed and passed drug and alcohol tests (blood and urine samples). These must be taken before the start of the course.
  • Our premises and work are located within the airport’s security-related area. You must therefore have an exhaustive police certificate/clean record and be approved by the aviation authorities



Personal Qualities
To be successful in the role of Air Steward, you should be a natural team player who is safety-conscious and responsible. You must be structured and punctual, always staying one step ahead. Thriving in a fast-paced environment and maintaining a high threshold for stress are essential. You should be solution-oriented, able to see opportunities, and capable of improvising while adhering to routines and procedures ensuring each flight is as exceptional and memorable as their last SAS flight.

Our Recruitment Journey

  2. Online assessment: Considered applicants, will be required to complete a digital video which involves answering a pre-set question.
  3. Assessment Center: If your application is successful, next will be invitation to attend our assessment day.
  4. Pre-employment checks: Before employment can be offered you will need to complete various checks including reference checks, criminal record check, security clearance, medical examination and drug- and alcohol test.
  5. Cabin Crew Training – If you have passed all the requirements, you can start our 4-week Cabin Crew training program which will prepare you for a career in the sky.
